This is a “Book Club with a Twist!” Every second month, in-between the Norfolk Public Library Book-Bag selection, we will be individually choosing a book related to a specific monthly theme. The themes/challenges will be varied, interesting and we’ll definitely have some fun as well as expand our reading horizons.
Bid Euchre

A variation of the classic Euchre card game, where you bid for the number of tricks you think your will take and the trump suit.

Social Bridge

The ultimate “trick-taking” game which combines skill with luck! PDSC Social Bridge is played in a casual and friendly setting. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Duplicate Bridge

Duplicate Bridge is a variation of contract bridge, where the same set of bridge hands are played by different competitors and scoring is based on relative performance.

Watercolour Drop-in
(The 1st Tuesday of every month at 2:15pm)
Come and paint with us! Whether you’re brushing up your skills or simply enjoying a creative morning among friends, Watercolour Drop-in is your place to relax, share ideas, and let the colours flow. Bring your imagination, your laughter, and maybe a cup of coffee—because art is better when it’s shared!

A moderate level class featuring dynamic warm-ups, standing circuits with dumbbells, strength exercises, balance, mobility for joints, core strength training, upper body and static stretching. Please bring your own mat and weights.
Sit & Fit
Thurs. at 10:45 am
Instructor: Suzanne Arsenault
A 50-minute low impact aerobics class while sitting down! Includes warm-ups, stretching, cardio, muscle and core conditioning and cool down at the end. Please bring a set of hand weights (not more than 5 lbs. at most) stretch bands (can be purchased from the instructor for $5) and don’t forget your water!
French Conversation
Tue. at 9:30am
A relaxed and welcoming French conversation gathering at the Senior Centre. Members of all French-speaking levels are welcome to bring a coffee or enjoy one from our Keurig while practicing French conversation in a friendly, supportive setting. The focus is on social connection, inclusion, and community!
Line Dancing - AB
(Wed. at 3:15 pm.)

PDSC offers 3 levels of Line dancing through the day, as well as a mixed evening program
AB- Absolute Beginner
Suitable for those with no previous experience.
Learn basic line dance steps and easy dances with a short sequence of simple steps to different music genres. This class is offered in a casual, fun environment while building confidence.
Line Dancing - HB

HB – High Beginner
Suitable for those who have mastered the Beginner class.
This class will improve on the execution of basic line dancing steps and move participants to a more challenging level. Students will become familiar with rhythms, tempos and patterns, as well as the techniques of line dancing. Choreographed dances include an assortment of styles (e.g. country, waltz, disco, Latin, rock, pop, swing/jazz, hip-hop, polka) which allows for great fun class.
Line Dancing - IA
(Mon. at 1 pm.)

Intermediate/Advanced
Suitable for more experienced dancers.
This class provides greater challenges with new and more advanced steps to add to your repertoire. Tags, restarts and bridges show up more often in this class.
Pickleball
Tues. at 2 pm. and Wed. at 6:30 pm

Join the Fun! Beginners and more experienced players are always welcome. We will provide several “Learn 2 Play Pickleball” sessions throughout the year to provide basic instruction for those new to the game.

It’s a simple way of letting the organizers know how many participants to expect and to communicate with other players that you will be there. You can add notes, and the system will also let you know if there are more participants, than the capacity limits and start a standby list for cancellation.
Registering for Pickleball is Easy.

Walking Club
Mon & Wed at 9:30 am
Facilitators: Lynn & Case Van De Waal
This is a fun walk to music program with gentle exercises added throughout the hour. Those with walkers, canes, walking poles or walking sticks, you are all welcome in our walking group. Can’t walk for a whole hour? That’s okay, there are chairs available to rest when you need a break. Whatever works for you! Stay after class for coffee & chat time in Room C. The walking group is a safe, friendly and climate-controlled place to walk.

Yoga is the practice that connects body, breath and mind. It’s a centuries old discipline, aimed at improving strength, flexibility and balance through gentle stretching and concentrated breathing. PDSC offers 3 types of Yoga classes.
Chair Yoga: Tue. at 11 am. and 1 pm. & Sat at 1 pm
A yoga class adapting poses with a chair. This class works through gentle stretches, flexibility and strength work plus balance all using a chair for support and stability. We also cultivate awareness and relaxation through mindfulness and breathwork. Please bring a yoga mat (for under your chair) and 2 blocks to class.

A fun and functional yoga class focusing on flexibility, strength, balance and breath work accessible to all bodies and levels of experience. Please bring a yoga mat, 1 or 2 blocks and a strap to class.
Breathwork & Mindfulness
(Saturdays 2:15 pm)
Take a gentle pause in your week to focus on relaxation, balance, and inner calm. This class combines simple breathing techniques with guided mindfulness practices to help reduce stress, improve focus, and support overall well-being. Suitable for all levels-just bring an open mind and a willingness to breathe deeply.
Guided Mobility
(Wednesdays at 12:15 pm.)
Designed to support healthy joints and spine, this class uses gentle movements and flowing sequences to improve ease of motion and overall physical function. More than just stretching, guided mobility helps you maintain strength, balance, and freedom in everyday activities. Welcoming to all levels, it has quickly become a member favourite!
Card Creations
4th Tuesday of every month at 2:15 pm.
($2.50 material fee)
Join us for a relaxed, hands-on card making session. No artistic talent required! Everything will be prepared and laid out for you. You’ll create one card to take home in another to leave at the center, to be shared as a thank you for our guest presenters. Expect a variety of styles, plenty of laughs, a chance to simply unwind and enjoy the process.
